This week on the pod Audrey and Cher dive into Zadie Smith’s Swing Time. Cher and Audrey have Gilmore Girls corner, a brief Harry Potter corner and an anti-mandatory-minimums corner. Cher shares her own experiences with dance and Audrey relates to having childhood friends who aren’t all that nice to you sometimes. The Bees also appreciate Zadie Smith’s depictions of girlhood and attempt to dive into issues of race in the novel.

This week on the podcast Audrey and Cher interview their own expert witness, Charlotte Poth! Charlotte brings an expert’s outlook to Manson’s abusiveness and psychopathy and provides some new perspectives on the Manson girls.  Audrey and Cher also finish up their discussion of Helter Skelter. Cher offers a biography of Manson's incorrigible defense attorney, Irving Kanarek and the Bees give their final review of Vincent Bugliosi’s account of the Manson murders

This week on the podcast Audrey and Cher continue their discussion about Helter Skelter! They start things off a little critical of Vincent Bugliosi and move on to discussing Charlie and the Manson girls’ trial antics. There’s some Ted Bundy talk and Cher gives the life story of American Dreamboat, Dennis Wilson, including his connection to Charles Manson.

This week on the pod both Audrey and Cher are having Manson nightmares. Cher gives some advice about what to do if your home is invaded, Audrey talks about her formal education on the Manson Murders, and the Queen Bees share their impatience for police officers that aren't team players. 

It’s a Harry Potter extravaganza this week on the podcast. Audrey and Cher catch up after two weeks off the air, discussing their potential addiction to their phones and their new microphone. Their discussion is primarily focused on the first three Harry Potter books, but they are understandably unable to keep to those limits. Expect a general overview of what they like and what they love about this indelible series and a debate about what characterizes each Hogwarts house. Audrey also somehow manages to bring up Idris Elba.

This week on the pod, feminist corner is back! But first Cher and Audrey discuss the ethics of how Bridget’s weight is portrayed, Cher breaks down her first impressions of The Holiday, and Audrey celebrates her favorite rom-com premise: bad first impressions. There is also somehow time for a true crime corner. You won’t want to miss out on the holiday fun!

This week on the podcast Cher, Tyler, and Audrey discuss the final chapters of Manhattan Beach. Cher questions why main characters seldom have abortions. Audrey airs her complaints about the ending of the book, and Tyler laments Tabby’s non-development. There is also time for a Grey’s Anatomy corner, makeover movie corner, and some light discussion about bees. You don’t want to miss any of it!

This week on the pod Cher and Audrey welcome Tyler back to talk about chapters 12-20 of Manhattan Beach. This trio can’t seem to get over Anna and Dexter Styles’ sex scene, but they manage to also cover their distaste for Eddie and Lydia’s death. Tyler also finally casts Cher and Audrey in a feature film!

It’s our tenth episode! Cher and Audrey celebrate by inviting their friend Tyler Laminack on the pod (@tylercolelam). Audrey puts Tyler on the spot with some personal questions, allowing Audrey and Cher to school Tyler on their first memories of each other. The trio also discusses Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan. They discuss why protagonists aren’t usually the assertive ones, the war genre, and give their predictions for the rest of the book. Cher’s predictions involve plenty of murder!

Cher drops the bombshell that she's not a romantic comedy person, and Audrey deals with the fallout. This eventually leads to a passionate discussion about Grey's Anatomy and yet another feminist corner (get used to it). Feminist corner culminates in Cher and Audrey announcing Audrey's 2028 candidacy for president. Oh yeah and they also have a thoughtful conversation about the final half of The Picture of Dorian Gray and Oscar Wilde's trial years.
