Queen Bee Book Club

The Bees are back, and Audrey has a big announcment! The girls dive into The Valley of the Dolls headfirst, discussing their disgust for men who take their writing too seriously, how a 35  year old woman should not be considered elderly, and what fates they think their protagonists will face in the coming chapters. (We're pretty sure at least one won't survive till the end). You won't want to miss it!

This episode is a big one for the Bees! In their third Harry Potter Extravaganza, Cher and Audrey talk almost exclusively about the 7th book in the series, discussing everything from their thoughts on Snape, Harry's children's names, and Hermione's superiority. Cher yearns for more information about James Potter, and Audrey shares the moments in the book that make her cry. The Bees also share fan opinions about this beloved series, so make sure you tune in!

The Bees are back this week with part two of their Crazy Rich Asians discussion. Audrey shares some highlights from her beach trip and Cher discusses her increasing wake boarding prowess. The Bees also reach out to Cher’s college friend Paula who shares how she relates to Crazy Rich Asians as an Asian American woman.

Make sure you are properly sunscreened because this week Cher and Audrey are talking about the perfect summer read, Crazy Rich Asians. The Bees are in agreement about their love of Astrid and Oliver and cast shame upon Nick for not properly preparing Rachel for meeting his family. Audrey theorizes why this book will translate well into a movie, and Cher lays out the proper procedure for introducing a partner to the family.

While the Bees are in different time zones this week, they are very much still in the Age of Innocence. Audrey and Cher discuss their mutual dislike for Newland Archer and his male privilege, but differ in that Audrey wants to know everything about May and Cher wants to know about Ellen Olenska. There's also plenty of time for "The Age of Dissonance," the Gossip Girl episode where Manhattan's elite put on an adaptation of Wharton's classic novel. Stay tuned for some serious consideration of the original Queen Bee, Blair Waldorf. 

Get your fainting couch ready because the Bees are talking about The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton. Cher, the reigning authority on Wharton gives us the lo down on E’s backstory and other works while Audrey marvels at how this is unexpectedly the perfect summer read. Also Audrey doesn’t sound like she’s in a metal room this time, so you’re not going to want to miss a moment!

The Bees are back, but this time in separate locations! Audrey recounts her charming meeting with Andre Aciman, Cher talks about her dream of taking a selfie with Timothée Chalamet, and the Bees close the book on the arrogant grosso, Ted Bundy.

The haggard Bees are in nightmare city as they continue to immerse themselves in Ted Bundy's world. Cher tells the terrible story of Daniel LePlant, Audrey identifies with Ted's Chi Omega victims, and the Bees question Ann Rule's continued financial and emotional support of the HORRIBLE Ted.  

The Queen Bees are coming in hot this week. They offer a breakdown of Audrey’s birthday and then dive right into The Stranger Beside Me, Ann Rule’s book about Ted Bundy. Audrey and Cher criticize Ted for his many character flaws and praise the sweet police officers that worked on the Seattle and Utah murders Ted committed.

Buckle up. It’s a long one, but the Bees are off next week so drink us in while you can. Cher has plenty of updates about the Golden State Killer, and our conversation about the last half of Little Fires Everywhere is not to be missed! There’s also some solid reminiscing about Gossip Girl and Friday Night Lights for those of you who’ve grown to love and expect tangents. Don’t miss a minute!
